….unless you want to A) be seriously motivated to go out for a run or B) be seriously motivated to train for a marathon 😉
In all seriousness, this is a FANTASTIC movie. It’s one of those movies that makes you laugh, smile and tear up with sadness and happiness. I’ve watched it twice now and each time I have wanted to sign up for a marathon straight away! It should come with a warning – ‘this movie will inspire and motivate you so much that even though your training schedule says 5k steady run tomorrow morning, instead you will want to do 42.2K at race pace’.
What makes it such a fantastic movie is that it’s based on a true story of how Brittany went from being unfit and unhealthy to training for a marathon. It was so relatable to me as that is pretty much how I started out running. In 2015, I was unfit and unhealthy and decided to take up running as I thought it was a free/cheap sport. Like Brittany, I had no idea what I was doing and was so nervous to go out and run in case other ‘serious’ runners saw me and laughed at my pathetic effort. It’s safe to say that Brittany was not alone in her struggles and triumphs when it came to running, so many runners go through similar challenges. The moral of the story is to not give up.
Please check it out, it’s on Amazon Prime – be prepared to be inspired.
