MAKING LEARNING TO RUN EASY AND FUN

Why? Because when I started out running I had absolutely no clue what I was doing. Like zero. And it was so hard. So I figured there are people out there – like the me of 2015 – who want to run but don’t know how to get started, or how to get past old trickster brain that says “you can’t be a runner”, or the process of going from only sprinting to catch the bus to running a 5K distance (while enjoying it and not swearing!).

Knowing what I know now, it’s easy to start running. There’s just a few things to know & have to a) make the process enjoyable and b) stay consistent with.

If I was starting to run again, this is what I’d do:

1) Don’t grab that old pair of runners/trainers at the back of the closet, instead buy a pair of running shoes that have been fitted for you.
I know it can feel intimidating going into a new space, but I promise you, there is nothing to be scared about in going into a running store. A good running store associate will help ease your nerves and they’ll do a foot analysis to work out what type of shoe will be the right support & cushion for you. Having a properly fitted pair of shoes is Running 101 in preventing injuries.

2) Take it slow – a comfortably easy pace & gently increasing the running intervals.
Yes there are folks out there that go run distances with zero training if you could see me now I am literally rolling my eyes – I am not a fan of those “I ran a marathon with no training” YouTube videos! If you want to run strong, be injury free, and take care of your body, then slow to start is the name of the game. The run/walk method is your friend when starting out, and I promise, nobody is looking at you or judging that you’re taking walk breaks.

3) Join Run Club!
Learning to run can be overwhelming and I can guarantee old trickster brain will tell you that “you’re never going to manage this”, “you can’t be a runner”, “it’ll be hard so don’t bother trying” or something else to that effect. When you the Club you’re not only investing in your future self, but you’re skipping past all the overwhelm, uncertainty & doubt. Every single step, taking you from where you’re at right now today, to running a 5K distance, you’ll have accountability, support & a bucketload of fun!

Zero to 5K Run Club

WE START ON MONDAY THE 15TH OF APRIL – IF YOU’RE IN, GRAB YOUR SPOT TODAY!

This is perfect if you’ve always wanted to run but never made it to the finish line (whether or not you actually want to run a race or just to say you did it).

Run Club starts on Monday the 15th April and we run for 12-weeks.

It’s all done virtually so you pick the days to run that suit you and you pick your running routes. We start off with week 1 run 1 being a 2 minute walk / 15 second run repeated for 15 minutes. You can totally do that, right?

You’ll receive your 12-week training plan, access to a private hype-up group chat, we’ll have calls every 2 weeks, and all the support you need to get you crossing the finish line (but you don’t actually have a run a race if you don’t want to!).

If your head says “you can’t” and your heart says “let’s gooooo”….then listen to your heart, that’s where your dreams live.

What do you say, wanna join this Zero to 5K Run Club?
