I made these AMAZING chocolatey crunchy power-balls (gluten free and vegan) and not only are they super simple to make, but they are a protein and fibre powerhouse of goodness – they are great as a pre-/post-workout snack or a no fuss treat on-the-go.
In a blender add:
1 cup of dates (soaked for a few minutes in warm water to get them soft)
1 cup of nuts or seeds
1/3 cup of sesame tahini
1/2 cup of rolled oats
1/2 cup of shredded coconut
1/4 cup of maple syrup
1 tbsp of chia seeds
1 tbsp of hemp hearts
1 tbsp ground flaxseeds
1 tbsp cacao powder
1 tsp of vanilla
Mix all together, then roll into balls. Leave them to set in the fridge for 30 minutes.
I like to keep treats like this stored in the fridge as it helps them to stay firm, especially now the weather is starting to heat up.
Enjoy!
