How is it almost the end of August already? This summer has whizzed by! The temperatures seem to be cooling down a little which I am SO thankful for. I forget each year how horrid it is to train for a half/full during the hot summer months.

Runner safety

Hello!

I’ve been doing a few early morning solo runs recently. There is something magical about being one of the first people out in the morning. Certainly where I live, the streets are mostly quiet, except a few other runners, dog walkers, and those coming home from work/starting work early.  As well as feeling AWESOME that you have completed your run before work, you are beating the heat, and there is something special knowing you are one of the few seeing that spectacular sunrise. You know how you are always told not to talk to strangers? Strangers mean danger, right? Well this week’s blog is from my buddy, Kelly. We haven’t been friends for all that long; originally I stalked her Instagram after seeing she had run the same race as me in 2016. We had a lot of similarities; did similar things; took part in the same races; went to the same locations months apart; almost went to the same conference…..it felt like the universe was pushing us together.  I’d never met someone from the internet in person; I was convinced she was going to murder me….turns out, she thought the same about me!  All good friendships start with the fear of murder, right?
