Growing up, I was the kid that always avoided movement. As a teen, I would regularly bail on PE classes because I didn’t want my hair and make-up to get messed up with sweat! During my twenties, my inactivity continued, choosing to do a weekend marathon DVD boxset rather than getting outside and moving my body. Combined with my inactivity, I was also eating garbage but was in complete denial about how bad it was.
It wasn’t until I moved to Canada in 2014 that my love for movement started – but gosh it was messy!
I had absolutely no clue what I was doing.
Injuries were a constant.
Exhaustion and I were BFFs after each run.
And don’t even get me started on knowing about hill training, or eating during a run, or foam rolling, or what shoes were best for me, or what gear to wear, or what LSD meant.
I knew absolutely nothing – nada!
Not only did I have no clue what I was doing, I also had zero belief in myself. My trickster brain was constantly telling me I was too slow, that I wouldn’t be able to achieve the paces or distances on my plan, and, well, on and on old trickster brain went.
At the time I had no idea that it didn’t need to be this constant mental & physical battle.
Knowing what I know now, I needed a running coach.
Not only a running coach, but a coach that could support me with shhhhh’ing my inner critic and help me sort out my pre-, during, and post-run fueling.
My mission is to help runners, like you, go after their running dreams and see what is actually possible.
As your running mindset coach, I am here to support you in every way you need to help you get to the start line of your dream race start feeling calm and confident.
