GUEST BLOG #7 – Why do you run?

Hello!

This week’s blog is brought to you by my good friend Kyla aka earlybirdrunner. I first got to know/creeped on Kyla from the #RunDisney tag on Instagram; she was running the Dopey Challenge (4 races in 4 days) at Walt Disney World in January 2018 – I was running the marathon.  Later on, I found out she was doing this as part of her year long birthday celebration.  And since then we’ve hung out in real life, and this girl is incredible! She is so inspirational, she is a machine! Recently not only did Kyla take part in a 50km race, she came first….not first female, first OVERALL winner!!!!

GUEST BLOG #6 – Why do you run?

Hey everyone. Hope you are having a lovely week.

This week’s guest blogger is the fabulous Jenny (fueled by cocoa). The three things I can tell you about Jenny (apart from that she is a runner!) is she always wears AMAZING running gear, she can get herself into some very impressive yoga poses, and she is by far the best I’ve ever seen at jumping and taking a photo!

GUEST BLOG #5 – Why do you run?

Hello and happy Global Running Day! Hope you managed to get out and log some miles on this happy Wednesday. I didn’t unfortunately, but that’s another story.

So this guest blog is by the fabulous Ashley – you can check her out on Instagram here and her blog here.  I’ve only been following Ashley on IG for a short while, but I absolutely love her account – if you are into Disney, running, or Lilly Pulitzer clothing, you defo need to check her out!  Enjoy!

WHY I DIDN’T GET A PB, AND WHY I AM OK WITH IT

I have been training for the Oak Bay Half-Marathon for the past 17 weeks. I put so much pressure on myself to get a Personal Best (PB) at this race.  Even though I have been running for a few years now, this past year running has been really hard for me.  I was essentially starting over.  Originally my race goal time was extremely adventurous (11 minutes faster than my first half-marathon in 2016), and a few weeks ago I made the decision to rain in my expectations and come up with a more realistic goal. A goal I knew I would smash….or at least I thought I would.

GUEST BLOG #4 – Why do you run?

Hello – Happy Friday! Are you racing this weekend? I don’t know about you, but my Instagram is FULL of folks running races and I am loving seeing goals being smashed. Gives me all the feels.

Guest blogger number 4 is the fabulous Charles – check out his Instagram here.  What I am loving most about this blog series is getting to know more about the runners than just seeing their awesome photos on Instagram. Its so interesting to hear how others got into the sport and what they love about it most. Enjoy!

GUEST BLOG #2 – Why do you run?

Hello again.

Today’s guest blog is my friend Karen.  Last year I coached Karen to run a half-marathon at the Toronto Marathon – coincidentally its almost 1 year ago since Karen raced.  I truly loved watching Karen’s confidence in herself grow after each run.  Most weekly schedules I gave her, she would be nervous about the distance/pace/number of hills, but I had 100% confidence in her, I knew she could do it. She blooming well crushed it!! I couldn’t have been more proud.

Karen is a wildlife photographer based in Toronto.  Her incredible photographs can be found on her website – http://santika2002.wixsite.com/kmlphotography

GUEST BLOG #1 – Why do you run?

Hello!

So I’ve decided to mix the blog up, and have guest bloggers once in a while.  I always love hearing about other peoples’ experience with running and why they run… so I thought you might too.  If you would like to feature as a guest blogger, please drop me an email.

So Guest Blog #1 goes to Andrew Spurr.  Andrew is a writer living in Canada, he is cute, smart, funny, and is the Spurr to my MacSpurr… yes he is my husband.  You can find Andrew on all social media as @ASpurrWrites, and he also has a blog http://www.aspurrwrites.wordpress.com
