Whether you’ve just run a race and are looking for your next challenge, or haven’t raced in a while but would like to have a goal to work towards, ask yourself these 3 questions.
It’s March 9th – normally by now I’d have at least 80% of my races for the year booked in, or at the very least know exactly what races I plan to run and my goal for each. This year is different – I only have one 10k race in April, and that’s only in my calendar as I am a clinic instructor for the group – the rest of my year is wide open, and I plan to keep it that way.
If you follow me on Instagram, you may know that I am training to become a running coach. If you had asked me 4 years ago if I would ever see myself being a runner, let alone a running coach, I would have falling off my seat laughing. Nope, back then it was certainly not something I ever saw myself doing, yet here I am – funny how life changes.
In 2017, I found an online marathon coaching certificate that I really wanted to do. At that time I was thinking more for my own knowledge rather than being a coach, but after being a clinic instructor at the Running Room, I found something that combines two of my favourite things – running and telling people what to do. It wasn’t until 2018 that I signed up and got cracking on the workload (and let me tell you, this course is full on comprehensive, with an exam, case study, first aid course, and coaching a volunteer client!).
Seawheeze is a half-marathon race around Vancouver, Canada and is organized by Lululemon. I will write another blog about all the merch and funtivites that come along with doing this race, but today is all about the 2018 race recap.
How is it almost the end of August already? This summer has whizzed by! The temperatures seem to be cooling down a little which I am SO thankful for. I forget each year how horrid it is to train for a half/full during the hot summer months.

Where has the summer gone? I feel like I was just starting (and re-starting) Seawheeze 2018 training, and now we are in week 10 – THE RACE IS IN 4 MORE WEEKS!!!! YIKESSSSS!
