I have always wanted to be the sort of person who constantly has enough ingredients in stock to be able to whip up a delicious sweet treat on a whim. I used to watch people like Nigella Lawson and Anna Olsen a lot and I always wanted to be like them because I assumed that they could easily create a tasty snack or dessert in a jiffy without ever having to wonder whether or not they had all the required ingredients (in my mind, they always had everything to hand in their grand pantries and fully stocked fridges!).
While not at the Lawson or Olsen level yet, over the past 5 years or so, I have slowly amassed a miniature pantry (I live in downtown Toronto, so I do not have the square footage for a grant pantry!) which is always stocked with the ingredients that I generally need for baking.
Below, I have put together a list of ingredients that, if you have these in your home, then you are more than likely to be able to make up a delicious treat. If you have even just a few of these on hand, there are many dishes that you could easily make – check out my favourite 3 recipes below.
- Coconut Oil
- Maple Syrup
- Nut Butter
- Chocolate Chips
- Shredded Coconut
- Rolled Oats
- Chia Seeds
- Flax Seeds
- Pure Vanilla Extract
- Cacao Powder
- Himalayan Sea Salt
